About pltrplnr
Restrictions Briefing / Mission Statement / v1.0.0
The Mission
pltrplnr (platter planner) was built to bridge the gap between social inclusion and food restriction safety. We believe that trying to remember a guest’s food restrictions shouldn’t be a burden for the host—nor should they be a mystery for anyone bringing a dish. Guests with food restrictions shouldn't feel like they need to repeat themselves multiple times for each event.
Foods are listed as 'restrictions' because it shouldn't matter whether a guest is unable or unwilling to eat a particular food. If you won't put a food in your face, put it in your restrictions list.
We understand that food restrictions can be a major consideration for guests and in an effort to protect their anonymity we have applied "the rule of three" to the restrictions lists for events.
The list of restrictions will not be available to hosts or guests until three people have agreed to attend. Should the number of attendees drop below three, the list ceases to be available.
Food restrictions are not associated with guests.
By leveraging a centralized database of allergens and cross-contamination categories, we provide hosts with an automated Restrictions Briefing. This allows every guest to be seen, and every plate to be served with confidence.
Beyond the Event
Safety shouldn't be limited to a formal guest list. Our Social Connections feature allows you to build a personal network of friends and family.
By connecting via email, you can grant trusted individuals direct access to your Restrictions Briefing. Whether it’s a spontaneous dinner or a holiday gathering, your inner circle always has the data they need to keep your plate safe, without you having to repeat your needs every single time.
Just-In-Time Data
Your restrictions briefing is recalculated every time the event details are viewed, ensuring guest changes are reflected instantly.
Category Awareness
Our system distinguishes between broad categories (like Dairy) and specific items, prioritizing high-level warnings for maximum visibility.
